Lanta Scuba is doing daily diving courses from beginner to professional level. All our courses are taught by professional PADI-Instructors. We have excellent training sites for the starter as well for the more technical deep-dive courses. We have sites with drop-offs, caves, canyons and the King Cruiser wreck. For every course we will carefully select our dive sites so you can fully enjoy the dive.

 

Discover Scuba Diver (intro dive)

If you have never dived before, this program is great for you! This one-day course will let you enjoy diving with the minimal training under direct supervision of a PADI Instructor. The Instructor will introduce you to some basic skills and there you go…  feel the freedom of breathing underwater, being weightless and discover another world. You’ll do 2 real open water dives on the reef with a maximum depth of 12 meters.

 

PADI Open Water Diver

The PADI open water diver course takes you through all the steps to become a fully certified diver. You’ll spend the first days in confined water conditions where you’ll be practicing skills and control of your equipment. Your last 2 days of the course will be on the boat “diving the reefs”. There you will demonstrate your instructor that you master the skills and be a responsible diver. There will be a theoretical part in the course, where you’ll be guided through by your own language DVD's, this will be tested with quizzes and a final exam. Once you have finished this 3, 4 or 5-day course you are recognized as a diver all around the globe, and a new “underwater” world opens for you!

 

PADI Advanced  Open Water Diver

This course is an experience that makes you do even more adventurous dives than before. In this practical course you’ll do 5 open water dives together with your Instructor. Mandatory in the course are the deep dive and the navigation dive, these dives are more than fun! Maybe you’ll get the experience of Nitrogen Narcosis by diving at depth (30 meters)! The other 3 dives you can choose yourself. There is a choice of night, wreck, multilevel , photography, peak performance, drift, naturalist, fish identification and some more. By finishing this course you’ll be  a safer diver, certified to do deeper dives and a great dive buddy for everyone.

 

PADI Rescue Diver

This course is completely different than all the other diving courses.  Many divers will tell you that this was the best course they’ve ever done. Imagine your buddy suddenly doesn’t move anymore at 15 meters of depth, what do you have to do? Think about all the situations you don’t want to happen underwater. You’ll be trained to handle such situations. The course contains a fair bit of theory, with an exam at the end. You’ll do some interesting (you never know what will happen??) open water dives, and be a very popular diver on the boat. We’re already looking forwards to teach you this course!

 

PADI Dive Master

The step to become a Dive Master (DM) has come, this is the most rewarding diving course you can possibly do. Your next level will be an Instructor. By completing this course you are almost on the same level as your Instructor (although he/she won’t agree!!), and are steamed ready for an IDC (Instructor training). This DM-course will take you at Lanta Scuba a minimum of 2 months, you’ll be trained to handle the complete diving vessel and to plan and organize the daily procedures on the boat. This is what we call an internship that teaches you all the ins and outs of a diving company. After completing all your theory and practical work you can call yourself a diving professional and work your way around the globe as a diver. At our diving center we can only take 2 DM-trainees every 2 months, so if you are interested be quick! We can arrange your accommodation and help you out with all your questions. PADI Specialties

 

Emergency First Responder

The EFR-course is a non-diving course, and will teach you how to help another person in case of an accident. This could be an accident related to diving or in your life back home. You’ll be taught all the first steps of saving a persons life. From small injuries till almost uncontrolled situations. With the help of the your EFR-Instructor, practicing scenarios and watching the DVD, this course is also a lot of fun!

This EFR-course is required before starting the Rescue Diver Course. The course will be a 1-day activity, full of surprises!

 

Nitrox Diver

Many divers nowadays decide to extend their diving abilities and choose to become a Nitrox Diver. You can start this course straight after your Open Water Course. With normal breathing air (79% Nitrogen and 21% Oxygen) you are limited to spend a certain time underwater at a certain depth before you’ll have the risk of getting Decompression Sickness (DCS). By enriching the air with extra Oxygen you can do longer dives before having the risk of getting DCS, although your maximum depth will be limited. This will be great for many of the dive sites we have here in the area. Also many divers seem to be less tired after a day diving by using Nitrox. We train you to use a maximum Nitrox mixture of 40% Oxygen. The mixes we mainly use are 36/64 and 32/68 (% Oxygen/% Nitrogen) These mixes will almost double the time you could spend underwater with normal air. The course will take you 1-day, including 2 Nitrox dives, there is some theory involved  with an exam. After completion you can use Nitrox up to 40%  in all your future dives.

 

Deep Diver

For this diving course you’ll do 4 dives in 2-days, with a maximum depth of 40 meters. At depth your Instructor will let you do some skills and you will experience the effect of Nitrogen Narcosis. In the course is a part that will explain you all the facts about Deep Diving and the risks of it. This is a real step to take in the world of diving! 

 

Night Diver

Diving at night sounds scary but is actually very exiting. At night the reef really comes to life, you see fishes sleep, corals changing colors, hunting barracuda’s and many more crazy things you would never expect. With your torch the real colors of the coral appear, everything looks different, plankton will light up right in front of you while the proud Lion fish is hunting actively.

This course will take you a couple evenings and is certainly worth sleeping a bit longer and leaving for the dive a bit later.

 

 

Photo specialist

While taking pictures you start to understand and appreciate the underwater world much more. With the digital Olympus or your own underwater camera, you’ll be teach how to make the best shots. The setting of white balance and artificial light will make your pictures already look much more professional. While doing this course your Instructor also works on your Peak Performance, breathing technique and tries to teach you interesting maneuvers to get nice close-ups of the reef. You’ll be rewarded with a picture CD and a certificate card.

 

If you have some experience in underwater photography, we can rent you the Olympus Camera for daily use. At the end of the day you will get your pictures burnt on a CD.
