Lanta Scuba is offering a full range of technical diving courses, the courses are taught by the agencies TDI or DSAT.

 

TDI Courses

 

Advanced Nitrox

This course is the first level and will take three days and covers theory, equipment, configuration, dive planning and tech philosophy. The course consists of 4 dives, to a maximum depth of 40 m with no deco on any dive. It can best be described as a foundation course on which all further courses are built and it will allow students to practice technical diving in a controlled, safe environment. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives to a maximum depth of 40 m, with no deco and may use nitrox mixes up to and including 100% 02. During the course you will use full technical equipment, including double tanks, double bladder wings and back plate. You will carry a single deco tank, and also all other equipment such as 2 computers, depth timers, slates, reels, smb’s, cutting devices etc.

The Pre-requisites for students are:

Minimum age of 18 years old.

Rescue diver or equivalent with first aid training.

Minimum number of 40 dives.

Nitrox certified.

 

Decompression Procedures

This is the second level and will take 3 to 4 days and expands on theory, equipment, configuration, planning etc. The course consists of 4 dives, with a maximum depth of 45 m of which two are deco dives. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives up to 45 m. During the course you will use the same equipment as on the advanced nitrox course.

The pre-requisites for students are the same as those for advanced nitrox, and you must also be a certified advanced nitrox diver, or equivalent.

 

Extended range (ER)

This is the third level and is the final air diving course. This course will take 5 days and expands on the first 2 courses and also introduces some new aspects such as computer program dive planning, and an introduction to trimix theory. The course consists of 5 dives, with a maximum depth of 55 m, with accelerated deco using 2 deco mixes. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives up to 55 m. During the course you will use the same equipment as on the other courses with the addition of a second deco mix.

The Pre-requisites for students are:

Qualified advanced nitrox and deco procedures.

Minimum number of 100 dives of which 25 below 30 m.

 

Entry Level (normoxic)

The forth level course is Entry level (normoxic) trimix. This course introduces diving with helium in the breathing mixture, and will take 6 days. The course consists of 6 dives, with a maximum depth of 60 m, using normoxic (21% o2) trimix. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives up to 60 m using normoxic trimix. During this course you will use the same equipment as on the ER course.

The Pre-requisites for students are the same as those for the ER course.

 

Advanced Trimix

This is the last level. The course expands on the basic trimix course and will take 5 days. The course consists of 5 dives, with a maximum depth of 100m using trimix. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives up to 100 m using trimix. During this course you will use the same equipment as mentioned above.

The Pre-requisite for students is to be qualified as either ER or entry level trimix.

 

DSAT Courses

 

Tech. deep level 1.

This is the foundation course and covers all aspect of technical diving, and will take 5 days , with a . technical dives up to 40 m, using 60%  o2 for deco. During the course you will use full technical equipment.

The Pre-requisites for students are:

Minimum age of 18 years

Advanced Open Water Diver

Nitrox certified

Deep diver certified

A minimum of 50 dives of which 10 must be nitrox dives and 12 deeper

than 18 m

 

Tech. deep

This is the second level and the final air course and expands on tec.1. This course will take 4 days with dives to a maximum depth of 50 m. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives up to 50 m and use up to and including 100%  o2. During the course you will use full technical equipment.

The Pre-requisites for students are:

Certified as tech level 1

Rescue diver

A minimum of 100 dives of which 20 must be nitrox dives and 25 deeper than 18 m

 

Tech. trimix

This is the last level and this course introduces diving with helium mixes and the theory relating to trimix and will take 6 days with dives to a maximum depth of 75 m. After certification students are allowed to conduct technical dives to 75 m using trimix. During the course you will use full technical equipment.

The Pre-requisite is to be certified as a tech deep diver.
