Technical diving is defined as any dive outside the normal recreational limits, including diving below 40m,decompression dives, dives requiring gas switches, the use of multiple cylinders, these of enriched air mixes containing over 40% Oxygen, and indeed you may find other definitions as well! It should therefore be apparent that this is a very different type of diving activity in comparison to recreational diving ,and at this point it must be stated that tech diving is not for everybody.

It requires a higher degree of commitment in many areas. The training is comprehensive, introducing different dive skills, equipment, dive practices and theory, but the rewards and sense of achievement are also high!

The individual requirements to enroll in any courses are listed below, but as a general guide you should be a competent diver (your buoyancy should be excellent), be very comfortable in the water, have a mature attitude and good discipline. You must also accept that there is more risk involved with technical diving. Cave Diving

We also offer cave and cavern diving, the South of Thailand is a big lump of limestone…and it rains a lot! This has created a huge number of cave systems, both sea caves and inland caves .At Lanta scuba we have explored, mapped and lined several new caves, and continue to locate and explore new caves every year.

Guided cave dives

Already cave certified? We can take you to a variety of caves ranging from large sea caves, small side mount tunnels or treks through dry caves before entering crystal clear springs. In many of these caves you will be guided by divers who first lined these systems. We also have all a full range of cave equipment for rent, so whatever you need to have a great cave diving holiday, just contact us. 

 

Cave and Cavern Courses

 

Cavern

This is the first overhead environment course and will take 3 days. The course covers theory, equipment, planning, line use etc. and consists of 4 dives.

The Pre-requisites are:

A minimum age of 18 years

A certified Advanced Open Water Diver.
